Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists help people, and their carers, who are finding it hard to do everyday things on their own. The occupational therapist will help you identify your strengths and difficulties, and will help you work out practical solutions. These might include things such as getting dressed or moving safely around your home

Your occupational therapist can also help you maintain, regain or improve your independence. They do this by using different techniques, providing you with equipment or changing your environment. They can help you:

  • look after yourself better
  • cope better around your home
  • stay involved in social activities and your community
  • manage your stress
  • identify equipment to make life easier
